About Jonathan Flaks

Jonathan Flaks, M.C.C. is a prominent Executive Coach specializing in leadership development, with emphasis on communication skills, career development and high-performance teamwork.

Jonathan draws from a diverse, 20-year business back-ground spanning investor relations, career counseling and marketing communication (public relations, brand licensing and advertising).  In addition to coaching individual CEOs, business owners and corporate executives, Jonathan leads teamwork and company culture programs, facilitating enhanced leadership, strategic mission planning and an increase in "productive fun."

As a motivational speaker/trainer, Jonathan uses coaching skills to "bring out your best" and engages groups to follow through and apply new abilities and insights. He is author of "Who Are You, Inc., - Bring Out Your Best In Business."     

Clients have come from BMG Entertainment, KPMG, IBM, Colgate/Palmolive, Disney, Deloitte, Honeywell, and many entrepreneurial enterprises.  

He is founder and past-President of the Westchester/ Rockland chapter of the International Coach Federation and has head-coached fund raising campaigns for NY Youth At Risk. Jonathan holds a dual degree from Cornell University and was Adjunct Professor in Business Leadership and Coaching Skills for New York University.

Personal Note

What makes one coach different from another? If you agree that personal chemistry and character are important, here are a few things that don't typically fit in a traditional bio.

I've been told that enthusiasm, creativity, bold honesty and business savvy are my strongest character traits. I think life is an adventure and I consider myself lucky to love what I do and to do what I love. I am not super-human, but thankfully, I learn from my mistakes and live with passion every day.

I believe that after health, close relationships are most important in our lives. I am extremely grateful to be close with all members of my family. We're all a little nuts, and knowing that goes a long way! We have a LOT of fun together.

I get very excited about helping people leverage their natural talents, hidden strengths, creativity and resourcefulness to make more money with less stress. I've doubled my income with half the trouble twice over. Ask me about it - it's one of my favorite concepts.

I care deeply about my clients and I practice "getting the 'aha' at the heart of the matter" quickly. Sometimes that involves tough, thought provoking questions, other times it comes from enjoying a few good laughs along the way. Friends and clients know that I'm happy to try to answer any question any time, and if I don't have the right answer, we think about how to reach into our collective resources for solutions. It's always fun and rewarding for me.

Personal Passions

• My wife, Ellen, and our two terrific sons
• All Classic Rock Music - My favorite groups are Yes, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors and Van Morrison. On weekends, I perform with a classic rock band.
• I love being on or in the water: Sailing, SCUBA , swimming
• On land... Tennis, biking and skiing
• Favorite Foods – Lobster, chocolate pudding pie, a nice crisp apple.
